Elic Louis Toliclerc
Elic Louis Toliclerc French Inscription

On a visit to All Saints Church, Oystermouth on Wednesday, I was told about the French man buried, close to the side door of the church.  So pretty close you can say.

Who is this French man, on Findagrave website, he is listed as Elic Louis Toliclerc.

As you can see on the inscriptions of his gravestone, it can be with T or J.

The Cambrian
13th June 1873
However, the publication of The Cambrian, June 1873.  Has a completely different name M. Elie Louis Joliclerc.  When he was mentioned in the inquest of his death, undertaken by Mr E. Strick, Swansea coroner.

Without knowing Jolicler’s cause of death, without a death certificate, and if he did commit suicide, how was he able to be buried so close to the church?
